CHILDREN’S CHRISTIAN DANCE WORKSHOPS

‘… you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.’

Phil 2.15-16

Releasing creativity and movement amongst children as they journey closer to God.

Our children’s Christian dance and movement workshops sprung up right at the beginning of UC Grace and are one of the core pillars in how UC Grace has grown.

The workshops offer an environment where children can recognise how fun and exciting the word of God is, how they can pray, use their bodies to demonstrate what God is saying. But most of all experience Jesus, have their curiosity encouraged and their conversation and walk with God deepened.

Anna Gilderson, the Workshop Leader has been teaching for over 20 years in schools churches and communities. Her qualifications include a Dip HE (level 6) in Dance Teaching and Learning, Children and Young People. As well as a BA (hons) in Childhood, Youth and Society and Dip HE in Youth and Community Work (JNC Qualified). Both Anna and any assistants have completed Safeguarding Training, have an up-to-date DBS as well as any other relevant training to support those attending the workshops. Anna has first hand experience of additional needs, but if you have any questions about how your child might need support please get in touch.

Our children’s Christian dance and movement workshops have a heart to enable children to have a deeper experience of their faith through the tool of dance and movement. Children will have the opportunity to develop key dance in worship skills, put movement to Scripture and explore ways to pray with movement rather than with their voice.

FAQs

Do I have to pre-book?

We encourage pre-booking to ensure that minimum numbers are met for the workshop to go ahead and to ensure our safeguarding guidelines can be followed. It also means should the workshop have to be cancelled at the last minute everyone can be notified.

Is there parking?

There is free parking available alongside our regular venue in Farnham, Surrey. Please ensure you read the details in the listing when booking a workshop incase we are at a different venue.

What’s the closest train station?

Farnham is the closest train station, which is about 20 minute walk away from our regular venue.

My child has no experience of dancing can they come?

Absolutely. No prior experience is necessary, just  a keeness to explore worship and movement as one.

Can you support my child with additional needs?

As well as completing various courses, I also have first hand experience of additional needs in my family and would want to support your child in the most suitable way. I would encourage you to get in touch so an understanding can be shared about the child’s needs and if any extra support would be needed in the workshop. Although there will be an assistant in the workshop, 1:1s at the moment aren’t possible so whilst we get to know your child we may ask the parent/ carer to stay in the building.
